Empowering Our Community

A scenic landscape featuring mountains, greenery, and a clear blue sky.

Our Mission

At Sage & Sweetgrass, our mission is to provide essential resources and housing to those in need throughout North Eastern NC. We believe in uplifting our community by offering support and guidance to individuals and families facing hardships.

About Sage & Sweetgrass at the Bradshaw House Inc.

Our Programs

We provide transitional, bridge-style housing for individuals and families who are without stable shelter. Our goal is to offer a safe and supportive place to stay while helping each person move toward permanent, long-term housing.

We meet basic essential needs by offering access to food, showers, clothing, hygiene supplies, and other daily necessities. We also distribute items such as diapers, cleaning products, and school supplies to support the well-being of both residents and the surrounding community.

We offer advocacy, guidance, and support services by partnering with local agencies to provide case management. We assist with job skills training, employment placement, substance abuse counseling, childcare resources, and other programs that promote stability and independence. We walk beside each person as they set goals and take steps toward rebuilding their lives.

We cultivate a healing, family-centered environment where residents share meals, participate in community activities, and engage in meaningful routines such as gardening and group walks. We believe in nurturing connection, dignity, and emotional well-being.

We support individuals from all walks of life — Senior Citizens, Veterans, Individuals with Disabilities, and Families. No matter the background or circumstance, we welcome those who need a place of stability, care, and a fresh start.

We remain committed to long-term impact. Our vision includes expanding into additional counties, opening resource centers, and creating broader opportunities for residents to grow, earn, and give back.

     The Courage of Moving Forward

    Transitioning into Permanent Housing

Transitioning into permanent housing brings both joy and fear. There is relief and pride in finally having a place to call home, but also uncertainty about the responsibilities and changes that come with it. These emotions are normal and valid.

At Sage and Sweetgrass at the Bradshaw House, we understand this balance. Our support doesn’t stop at the door—we continue walking alongside our residents as they adjust, grow, and build confidence. Permanent housing isn’t just a move; it’s the beginning of stability, healing, and hope for the future.
